Art and media
Across our Moulsecoomb and City campuses, students will explore a range of different art and media disciplines with our academic staff, and some of our specialist facilities which include craft workshops, photographic studios, screen and digital printing, and our dedicated art studios.
Sessions will be drawn from the School of Art and Media courses taught at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, which include:
- 3D Design and Craft
- Fashion
- Fine Art, Painting and Printmaking
- Journalism
- Media and Film
- Photography
- Sound and Music
- Visual communication – Animation, Graphic Design, Illustration
Alongside academic activities, outreach staff will deliver advice and guidance sessions on making a strong application to university, including tips on creating your portfolio. Our current university students will also be supporting throughout the summer school to help everyone settle in and to share their experiences of being a university student.
Business
Based at our Moulsecoomb campus, students will explore a range of different business disciplines delivered by our academic staff. Working in groups, students will be given a brief to then plan, prepare and pitch ideas to the group.
Sessions will be drawn from the School of Business and Law courses taught at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, which include:
- Accounting, Finance and Economics
- Business Management
- Marketing
Alongside academic activities, outreach staff will deliver advice and guidance sessions on making a strong application to university. Our current university students will also be supporting throughout the summer school to help everyone settle in and to share their experiences of being a university student.
Engineering
Based at our Moulsecoomb campus, students will explore a range of different engineering disciplines delivered by our academic staff. Students will experience our specialist facilities, which include our simulation suite, with car and flight simulators with VR and motion platform technology, prototyping labs and 3D printers. The summer school will also consist of a visit to a local place of interest.

Health professions
Based at our Falmer campus, students will explore a wide range of different healthcare disciplines delivered by our academic staff. Students will explore our specialist clinical and simulation suites and learn from students currently studying different healthcare courses. Students are offered first aid training session as part of the summer school.

- Diagnostic Radiography
- Midwifery
- Nursing
- Occupational Therapy
- Paramedic Science
- Physiotherapy

Humanities
Based at our Moulsecoomb campus, students will explore a range of different humanities disciplines delivered by our academic staff. The summer school will also consist of a visit to a local place of interest.

Law
Based at our Moulsecoomb campus, students will explore different aspects of law in sessions delivered by our academic staff. Working in groups, students will be given a brief to then plan, prepare and pitch ideas to the group.

Science
Based at our Moulsecoomb campus, students will explore a range of different science disciplines delivered by our academic staff. Students will experience our specialist facilities which include a dedicated microbiology lab, primary cell/tissue and secondary cell culture facility, image analysis suite with electron microscopes, a confocal microscope and atomic force microscopes and a genomics/proteomics facility for analysis of cell genes and proteins. The summer school will also consist of a visit to a local place of interest.
Sessions will be drawn from the School of Applied Sciences courses taught at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, which include:
- Biological Sciences
- Biomedical Science
- Ecology and Conservation

- Pharmacy

Social science
Based at our Moulsecoomb campus, students will explore a range of different social science disciplines delivered by our academic staff. Students will experience our professional-standard facilities, including our multi-purpose psychology resource laboratories. The summer school will also consist of a visit to a local place of interest.
Sessions will be drawn from the School of Humanities and Social Science courses taught at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, which include:
- Criminology
- Politics
- Psychology
- Social science
- Sociology

Sport
Based at our Falmer campus, students will explore a range of different sport disciplines delivered by our academic staff and sport coaches. Students will experience our specialist facilities, which include our strength and conditioning suite, biomechanical lab with running track and 3D motion analysis, exercise rehabilitation gym, as well as our extensive sports facilities. Also included is a tour of the AMEX stadium.
